New to the World of Cubing? Here's How to Choose Your First Speedcube!
Stepping into the world of speedcubing can be both exciting and overwhelming. With so many options out there - different brands, designs, and features - it’s easy to feel lost. But don’t worry! Picking your first Rubik’s cube is simpler than you think, and I’m here to guide you through the process. By the end of this post, you’ll know exactly what to look for to start your cubing journey with the perfect cube. Let’s dive in!
One size fits all
Before we get into specifics, I would like to start this blog right away with a cube that fits every purpose:
The Drift 3M plus v2
This is the latest cube in Cubelelo’s homegrown Drift line of cubes. It is fast, buttery smooth and magnetic. It has advanced anti-pop tech and adjustable spring strengths and tensions to tune the cube to your liking. All of this comes at a very reasonable price, which is why I would recommend this to anyone as their first cube, no matter their goals or purpose with cubing.

Premium experience
Although this is not recommended for beginners, if you are someone who wants to skip everything and go directly for the most premium experience in cubing, you can get the GAN 15.
This cube is the latest edition in the premium line of GAN 3x3s.
